Corfu International Airport – Ioannis Kapodistrias is the airport on the island of Corfu serving domestic and international scheduled and chartered flights. The airport is named after Ioannis Kapodistrias, a distinguished Corfiot diplomat and the first governor of Greece.

The airport serves domestic flights to Thessaloniki, Zakynthos, and to Greece’s biggest airport in Athens, from where the country’s flag carrier AEGEAN and its Star Alliance partners can connect you to many worldwide destinations. Corfu International Airport is a small airport with one terminal building, so it’s very easy to find your way. Free wifi is available in all areas, while smoking is not allowed inside the entire airport. A cafe and kiosk are available in the public departures area, while several (duty free) shops and some restaurants, including Burger King and Starbucks, are available after the security checks. In the arrivals halls you can find ATMs, car rental desks and a taxi booth.
Getting To And From Corfu International Airport
Corfu International Airport is locatated in Corfu Town, about 2 kilometers away from the town center and it takes approximately 10 minutes to get there.
By Bus
The blue Corfu City Bus line 15 serves the airport and goes to the Corfu Bus Station on San Rocco Square, and onwards to Corfu Port. The real-time departure times are displayed on the screen at the bus stop, which is right in front of the airport terminal if you turn left from the exit at the arrivals area. The schedule intensifies during the summer months, to accommodate the larger number of flights arriving at the airport.
By Taxi
The official taxi rank is located right in front of the exit of the arrivals hall. Metered taxis to Corfu town take about 10 minutes and should cost you no more than 10-15 euros. You can also get a fixed price ride from the taxi booth in the arrivals hall. Ride sharing apps, like Uber or Lyft, are not available in Corfu.
By Private Transfer
You can also pre-book a private transfer to your hotel online, so you can skip the taxi queue at the airport as a dedicated driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name in the arrivals hall. This is the most convenient way as you won’t have to worry about getting cash and wait for a taxi to be available during the busy summer months.
By Car
Corfu International Airport can be easily reached by car via Georgaki Kostas Road and you can drop off or pick up passenger in front of the arrivals or departures areas, or park your car in the designated parking area.
Parking At Corfu International Airport
Free parking is available to the left hand side when you enter the airport area. Be aware that parking spaces are limited, but you can drop-off passengers in front of the terminal and then turn around to find a parking space either at the airport or further away if no parking spot is vacant.

Plane Spotting At Corfu International Airport
The best place for plane spotting at Corfu Airport is at the pedestrian bridge between Kanoni and Perama, next to Vlacherna Monastery. Standing right at the top of the runway, all planes fly right over you when they either land or take-off, depending on the direction of the wind.
