Yialos Beach is a tiny, undeveloped beach at the bottom of spectacular cliffs near the village of Karousades, on the north coast of Corfu.
How To Get To Yialos Beach
Yialos Beach is located about 1.2 kilometers off Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari, near the village of Karousades. It can best be reached with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat.
By car, it’s about a 2.5-kilometer drive from Karousades, 6 kilometers from Sidari, and 35 kilometers from Corfu Town. From the main road, a narrow and steep, but asphalted road leads down to the beach.
It’s not ideal to get to Yialos Beach by public transport. The nearest bus stop is on Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari which serves Green Bus line S5 between Kassiopi and Sidari and only runs during the summer season.
Beach Description
Yialos Beach is oriented towards the northwest. The beach is only small and extremely narrow and basically consists of limestone and pebbles. The seabed has a gentle slope and the bathing water remains is shallow for the first few meters.
What sets this tiny beach apart is its hidden character below some impressive cliffs. It’s not a popular beach because of its small size and remote location, so it’s usually quiet or you might be on your own there.
Facilities At Yialos Beach
Yialos Beach is unorganized and has no facilities at all, so you’ll have to bring your own supplies for a beach day. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water, because there’s no bar or restaurant nearby.
