Stelari Beach is a remote virgin beach below high cliffs near the village of Liapades, on the west coast of central Corfu. The beach is among the most spectacular ones on the island but is only accessible by boat.
How To Get To Stelari Beach
Stelari Beach is situated in a bay about 2.5 kilometers south of Liapades. However, the beach is entirely enclosed by the rocky coastline with high cliffs and can therefore only be reached by boat.
On Liapades Beach, and in Paleokastritsa, there are taxi boats that can take you to Stelari Beach and pick you up a few hours later. Of course, you can also rent a boat, or book a boat trip that includes a stop here.
The nearest to the beach you can get overland is to a viewpoint on top of the cliffs. From Liapades, it’s a 3.5-kilometer hike through beautiful olive groves and the view is spectacular, even though you can’t actually get to the beach.
Beach Description
The coast at Stelari Beach is completely natural and unspoiled and consists of hills with olive trees and other vegetation. The beach is oriented towards the southwestern direction.
The beach has a length of approximately 400 meters, and an average width of about 30 meters, providing ample space for sunbathing and other beach activities.
The beach has a mix of sand and pebbles, with some more rocks towards the sides. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters, the bathing water is relatively shallow. The water is perfectly blue and crystal clear, making it great for swimming and snorkeling.
Stelari Beach is the perfect place to experience the wild beauty of this rugged coastline and it’s popular among couples who seek a romantic experience.
From Stelari Beach, you can also swim around the rocks to the smaller neighboring Kamari Beach to the north.
Facilities At Stelari Beach
Stelari Beach is unorganized and has no facilities. During the peak of the summer holidays, there might be sunbeds for rent, but other than that, don’t expect to be able to get anything on this beach, so make sure to bring your own drinks and snacks if you make a boat trip to Stelari Beach.
