Roda Beach is centrally located on the northern coastline of Corfu, in the homonymous village of Roda. The beach stretches out from the Cape of Roda to the west and Acharavi Beach to the east.
How To Get To Roda Beach
Roda Beach is located in the village of Roda, just off Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari, and can be reached by foot, with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or by public transport.
By car, Roda Beach is a 35-kilometer drive from Corfu Town, 9 kilometers from Sidari, and 15 kilometers from Kassiopi. Depending on how busy it is, you can park for free near the beach or a bit further away.
Getting to Roda Beach by public transport is also easy, as there is a bus stop right next to the beach. Green Bus line A3 between Acharavi and Corfu Town stops here. Line S5 between Kassiopi and Sidari also stops here, but only runs during the summer season.
Beach Description
Roda Beach stretches out over a total length of approximately 1.5 kilometers along a v-shaped bay in front of the village. Different sections of the beach are oriented towards the northeast, north, or northwest.
Starting from the Cape of Roda, the beach has a length of approximately 1.5 to 2 kilometers, until it continues as Acharavi Beach and further down as Almyros Beach. There’s no strict difinition of where one beach ends and the next one starts, but the entire combined beach strip has a total length of 5.4 kilometers.
The section to the east of the marina is pebbled, while the section to the west is sandy. The width of the beach varies highly, from just a few meters, to sections of up to 50 meters. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters, the bathing water is shallow.
Most of the beach has an urban character, due to the development of hotels, bars, restaurants and shops along the coastline. The most western section has some resorts, but also has more dense vegetation.
Facilities At Roda Beach
Most parts of Roda Beach are organized and have all the facilities you can expect from a resort town, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, trash bins, and toilets. There are plenty of beach bars and restaurants, and a few shops on the beach front and in the nearby streets.
There are also boats for rent and water sports available, including pedal boats, stand-up-paddling (SUP), kayaks, and other fun activities.
