Kontokali Beach is located on the eastern shore of the Kontokali Peninsula, between Alykes Bay and Gouvia Bay, in the village of Kontokali, a suburb northwest of Corfu Town.
How To Get To Kontokali Beach
Kontokali Beach is located about 7 kilometers away from the center of Corfu Town and can easily be reached by car, taxi, or public transport.
If you drive there, for example by renting a car for your holiday, you can simply follow Road no. 24 in the direction of Paleokastritsa, and then right after the large bend at the end of Alykes Bay, you have to take the first street to the right. Turn right again after 650 meters and you’ll reach the beach in 150 meters.
To get to Kontokali Beach by public transport, you can take Corfu Bus line 7 which stops on the main road from where it is a 10-minute walk to the beach. To get back into Corfu Town, you can take either line 4 or 7 from the bus stop across the main road. Several of the long-distance Green Buses also pass by in both directions.
Beach Description
Kontokali Beach is facing in eastern direction and has a length of about 90 meters and an average width of 20 meters. The beach and seabed are sandy and have a gentle slope so for the first few meters the water has a relatively normal depth. Dense vegetation surrounds the beach, creating a quiet and secluded area which is ideal for relaxation.
From the beach you can see the islet Lazaretto and on the horizon you can see Corfu Town with the Old Fortress.
Facilities At Kontokali Beach
Kontokali Beach is organized and has several facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, and trash bins. There is also a bar and restaurant and there are water sports activities and a diving center.
A part of the beach is operated by the Kontokali Bay Resort & Spa, a 5-star resort with numerous other facilities, including an indoor and outdoor pool, a wellness center, a fitness center and a tennis court.
