The Corfu Art Gallery is a private gallery exhibiting Corfiote art. The gallery is located on Ioannou Theotoki Street, just across the road from the domestic terminal of Corfu Port in Corfu Town.
The Corfu Art Gallery was established as the first private art gallery for Corfiote art by the engineer and collector Michael Aggelos Vradis to house and exhibit his private collection. Vradis’ friend, the local painter Spyros Alamanos, has also played an important role in the establishment of the gallery, which also houses a selection of his works.
Vradis’ private collection consists of works from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries and includes various types of paintings, sketches, engravings, sculptures, and decorative art. In over 35 years, the museum collection has expanded with many more works from local artists. Around 600 works are exhibited across almost every wall of the four-story building, including its stairways, while some works are kept in storage.
