The Corfu Aquarium is a popular attraction in the picturesque village of Paleokastritsa, on the west coast of central Corfu. The aquarium offers a unique experience in which you can discover the fascinating underwater world of the Mediterranean and it’s the largest of its kind in Greece.
The Corfu Aquarium has an exhibition space of over 500 square meters, with 20 aquariums filled with 50,000 liters of water and over 70 species of fish, reptiles, and amphibians that can be viewed up close.
Among the fish species are starfish, seahorses, octopuses, crabs, cuttlefish, rays, eels, mullets, lionfish, and lobsters. The amphibians include frogs and axolotls and among the reptiles are snakes, turtles, crocodiles, geckos, iguanas, chameleons, and lizards. At the aquarium, there’s also a cafe and a souvenir shop.
How To Get To The Corfu Aquarium
The Corfu Aquarium is located in Paleokastritsa and can be easily reached by car or bus. There is a (paid) parking lot next to the entrance, but free street parking is also available nearby. The bus stop is located in front of Agios Spiridon Beach, about 80 meters from the entrance of the aquarium. This is the terminus of Green Buses line A9 between Corfu Town and Paleokastritsa and S6 between Nissaki and Paleokastritsa.
Tickets For The Corfu Aquarium
Entry tickets for the Corfu Aquarium can be purchased at the entrance, on the official website, or you can pre-book a guided tour which lasts around 45 minutes.
