Antinioti West Beach is a large sand beach near the Antinioti Lagoon on the north coast of Corfu. The beach is situated between the western mouth of the lagoon, and the Cape of Agia Ekaterina, the northernmost point of Corfu.
How To Get To Antinioti West Beach
Antinioti West Beach is remotely located on the island that is separated from the mainland by the Antinioti Lagoon. It can best be reached with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or on foot.
By car, Antinioti West Beach is a 7-kilometer drive from Acharavi, 9 kilometers from Kassiopi, and 44 kilometers from Corfu Town. On both sides of the island, there’s a bridge across the lagoon, but only on the eastern side, the bridge is accessible by cars. From there it’s a narrow dirt road to the beach.
By foot, you can reach Antinioti West Beach from either Almyros Beach or Agios Spiridon Beach. From Agios Spiridon Beach, you can either follow the dirt road or take a scenic detour by following the marked hiking path along the seashore and Gialiskari Beach.
There’s no public transport to Antinioti West Beach. The nearest bus stop is on Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari and serves Green Bus line S5 between Kassiopi and Sidari, which only runs during the summer season.
Beach Description
Antinioti West Beach is oriented towards the northwestern direction. On the horizon you can see the Ionian island of Erikousa.
The beach has a length of approximately 100 meters and an average width of around 10 meters. The beach and seabed are sandy with some fine pebbles. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters the bathing water has a normal depth.
The coastline is completely natural without any constructions and the area surrounding the beach is covered with rocks and vegetation. The beach is a true hidden gem where you feel completely in nature. Despite is great characteristics the beach is usually very quiet due to its remote location.
Facilities At Antinioti West Beach
Antinioti West Beach is unorganized and has no facilities so you’ll have to bring your own supplies for a beach day. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water on a hot summer day. The nearest places to get any food or drinks are located on Almyros Beach and Agios Spiridon Beach.
