The Ancient Agora of Paleopolis was the market and center of the historic city of Paleopolis, which is now located on the southern side of Corfu Town.
The agora is an archaeological excavation of the remains of the ancient Roman market. Archaeologists believe that the remains were sanctuaries, workshops, and residences. Inside the agora, you can also find the remains of the Basilica of Paleopolis, and to the opposite side of the road are the remains of a Roman bath complex.
The Ancient Agora of Paleopolis is fenced off to preserve the site, but you can see the remains well from the side of the road and you can visit it 24/7 for free. A collection of objects found at the agora is displayed at the Archaeological Museum of Corfu.
