Acharavi Beach is the main beach in the popular seaside village of Acharavi, on the north coast of Corfu. The beach stretches out in front of the entire village and beyond.
How To Get To Acharavi Beach
Acharavi Beach is located right in front of the center of Acharavi and can be reached on foot, with a private vehicle like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or by public transport.
By car, Acharavi Beach is a 38-kilometer drive from Corfu Town, 12 kilometers from Kassiopi, and 13 kilometers from Sidari. The beach is about 500 meters away from the main road, which runs parallel to the coast. There are several roads and alleys to the beach, but most of these are a dead end for cars, so it’s best to plan where you want to go, so you can find a parking spot nearest to your destination.
You can also get to Acharavi Beach by public transport as Green Bus line S5 between Kassiopi and Sidari makes several stops along the main road through the center of the village. This bus line only runs during the summer season though.
Beach Description
Acharavi Beach is oriented towards the northwest and on the horizon you can see the Ionian island of Erikousa. The beach stretches out over several kilometers in front of the entire village and continues in northern direction as Almyros Beach and in the southern direction as Roda Beach. There’s no strict difinition of where one beach ends and the next one starts, but the entire combined beach strip has a total length of 5.4 kilometers.
The beach has an average width of about 20 meters. The beach and seabed are covered with pebbles, although the northern part towards Almyros Beach is more sandy. The seabed has a gentle slope and the first few meters of the bathing water are shallow.
Acharavi Beach has the characteristics of an urban beach as it is fully developed with hotels, resorts, private guest houses, bars, and restaurants, yet it’s not overly crowded due to its length.
Facilities At Acharavi Beach
Acharavi Beach is fully organized and has all the facilities you can imagine, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, trash bins, beach bars, restaurants, and shops.
There are also several water sports, including pedal boats, stand-up-paddling (SUP), banana boats, jet skis, and boats for rent.
