Mandraki Beach is a small pebbled beach next to the Mandraki Marina at the foot of the Old Fortress in Corfu Town.
How To Get To Mandraki Beach
Mandraki Beach is located at the Mandraki Gate of the Old Fortress and can only be reached by boat or by foot via a walk through the fortress. Since you’d need to buy a ticket for this, it’s best to combine a swim with a visit to the castle. Relaxing at the beach can be a well-deserved reward after climbing up to the top of the fortress on a hot day.
Beach Description
Mandraki Beach consists of a combination of sand and pebbles and has a length of no more than 50 meters. The area is a quiet getaway since it is secluded by the high fortress walls. The water is very clear and suitable for swimming, however, due to its location the is a small risk of slight pollution in case any of the vessels at the adjacent marina leaks fuel.
Facilities At Mandraki Beach
Mandraki Beach is unorganized and has no facilities, but the Corfu Sailing Club located at the adjacent Mandraki Marina has a restaurant and toilet facilities. More toilets and a cafe can be found inside the fortress. There are no sunbeds for rent.
