Liapades Beach, also called Gefyra Beach, is situated in a secluded bay below the homonymous village of Liapades, on the west coast of central Corfu. The beach is a quiet alternative to the crowded beaches in nearby Paleokastritsa but still has all the amenities you need for a relaxing day at the beach.
Its secluded character in a quiet environment makes Liapades Beach ideal for couples of all ages and families with kids.
How To Get To Liapades Beach
Liapades Beach is located about 1.5 kilometers from the center of Liapades and can best be reached on foot, or with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat.
By car, Liapades Beach is a 5-kilometer drive from Paleokastritsa and 21 kilometers from Corfu Town. There is some private parking at the beach venues but otherwise, you can park alongside the road towards the beach. Depending on how busy it is, you might have to park a bit further away.
There is no public transport to Liapades Beach. The nearest bus stop is in the village of Liapades, a 1.5-kilometer walk away, and Green Bus line A10 connects it with Paleokastritsa and Corfu Town.
Beach Description
Liapades Beach is situated in a serene bay which provides seclusion and a quiet and natural environment. The beach is oriented towards the western and slightly southwestern directions.
The beach has a length of approximately 85 meters and an average width of about 20 meters. The beach and seabed are sandy with pebbles. The seabed has a gentle slope but the bathing water gets relatively deep quickly. The water is calm and beautifully colored turqoise.
While the area behind the beach is developed with hotels and restaurants, the surrounding area and coastline are natural with big rocks and green vegetation.
Facilities At Liapades Beach
Liapades Beach is the only organized beach near the village and has all necessary facilities of a beach resorts, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, trash bins, beach bars and restaurants.
Water sports are also available at Liapades Beach, and include motor boats for rent, pedal boats, kayaks, and peddle boards.
