Krouza Beach is one of the virgin beaches on the rugged coastline between the villages of Liapades and Giannades, on the west coast of central Corfu. The beach is secluded in a bay and high cliffs make it only accessible by boat.
How To Get To Krouza Beach
Krouza Beach is located about 1.7 kilometers east of Giannades and 4.5 kilometers south of Liapades, but its situation below high sea cliffs makes it unaccessible overland, so the only way to get there is by boat.
On Liapades Beach, and in Paleokastritsa, there are taxi boats that can take you to Krouza Beach and pick you up a few hours later. Of course, you can also rent a boat, or book a boat trip that includes a stop here.
Beach Description
Krouza Beach is oriented towards the western and slightly northwestern directions and the high cliffs behind the beach provide some shade during the morning and early afternoon.
The beach has a length of approximately 100 meters, and an average width of around 5 meters. The beach and seabed are covered with pebbles and stones, including some larger rocks. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters, the bathing water is relatively shallow.
The water is exremely clear and beautifully turquoise, so it’s perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The entire coastline is natural, without any constructions, so you’ll completely feel in the middle of nowhere here.
Krouza Beach is less popular than other nearby beaches that have longer stretches of sand, but it’s therefore also a hidden gem if you’re looking for a quiet time.
Facilities At Krouza Beach
Krouza Beach is unorganized and has no facilities at all, so you’ll have to bring your own drinks, snacks, and other supplies if you make a boat trip there.
