Katevasidi Beach is an unspoiled remote beach on the northwestern coast of Corfu, near the village of Avliotes. The sandy beach is a hidden treasure secluded by limestone cliffs and is usually quiet.
How To Get To Katevasidi Beach
Katevasidi Beach is literally situated in the middle of nowhere, outside the village of Avliotes, and can only be reached by boat, on foot, or with a four-wheel drive. There is no viable public transport to this beach.
From Corfu Town, it’s a 42-kilometer drive to Katevasidi Beach, 6.5 kilometers from Sidari, and 3 kilometers from Agios Stefanos Avliotes. To get to the beach you need to follow Road 2231 Agros-Magoulades-Perdoulades. Between the villages of Avliotes and Agia Pelagia, there’s an exit onto a steep and narrow road that leads to the beach. The 1-kilometer-long road itself is only asphalted for the first few meters and deteriorates the further you get until it becomes a track. It’s not recommended to drive down the entire road without a four-wheel drive.
Beach Description
Katevasidi Beach is situated in an open space between high cliffs that make up the coastline. The beach is oriented towards the northwest and looks out on the Diapontian Islands on the horizon.
The beach has a length of approximately 60 meters and an average width of 10 meters. The beach and seabed are sandy. The seabed has a gentle slope so the bathing water remains shallow for the first few meters.
The coast is natural and the beach is completely unspoiled without any constructions. Dense and tall vegetation surrounds the beach and the road towards it.
Because it’s so hard to get to this remotely located beach, it’s always quiet so its a perfect hidden paradise to escape the crowds of other beaches.
Facilities At Katevasidi Beach
Katevasidi Beach is unorganized and has no facilities at all, so you’ll need to bring your own supplies for a beach day. Make sure to bring plenty of water, because you can’t get anything to drink nearby.
