Kalami Beach is located in the homonymous village of Kalami, in one of the picturesque bays on the east coast of northern Corfu. The beach is a popular destination for holidays and day trips for its beautiful surroundings, crystal clear waters, and numerous facilities.
How To Get To Kalami Beach
Kalami Beach is located off Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari in Kalami and can be easily reached with your own transportation like a rental car or scooter, or by public transport.
From Corfu Town, it’s a 28-kilometer drive to Kalami Beach. From the main road, you can either take the exit next to the church in Gimari and follow the road past Gialiskari Beach until you reach Kalami, or take the exit towards Kouloura, which leads to the other side of Kalami. There are a few paid private parking lots at the beach, but if you can find a spot on the side of the road you can park for free.
To get to Kalami Beach by public transport, you can take Green Bus line A4 or A12 which both stop on the main road (bus stop Kalami-Kouloura), from where it’s a 1.3-kilometer walk to the beach.
Beach Description
Kalami Beach is oriented towards the southeast and stretches out along the bay over a length of 250 meters, with an average width of approximately 10 meters. The beach and seabed are covered with pebbles and stones and the seabed has a gentle slope. For the first few meters, the bathing water has a normal depth.
Despite the development as a tourist destination, Kalami has kept the charm of a small fishing village. The beach is therefore a great place for families with children or people who like an easy going vibe, but with all the necessary facilities for a beach holiday or a day trip. The clear blue waters and the lush hills surrounding the bay make Kalami Beach perfect for relaxing.
Facilities At Kalami Beach
Kalami Beach is organized and has many facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, beach bars, restaurants, showers, and trash bins. More restaurants, shops, and an ATM can be found on the road parallel to the beach.
Watersports including peddle boards and kayaks are also available at the beach and you can rent motor boats.
