Imerolia Beach is one of the beaches in the popular seaside village of Kassiopi, in the northeast of Corfu. The beach is situated in the Imerolias Bay on the western outskirts of the village.
How To Get To Imerolia Beach
Imerolia Beach runs parallel to the main that leads out of Kassiopi in the western direction, Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari. The beach can be reached by foot, with a private vehicle, like a rental car or scooter, or by public transport.
By foot, Imerolia Beach is about an 800-meter walk from the center of Kassiopi. From Corfu Town, it’s about a 35-kilometer, or a 1-hour drive to get there. You can park for free alongside the road.
The nearest bus stop is in the village of Kassiopi. Green Bus lines A4 and A12 connect Kassiopi with Corfu Town.
Beach Description
Imerolia Beach is situated on the southeastern corner of Imerolias Bay and is oriented towards the north and northeastern directions. The beach has an approximate length of 250 meters and an average width of between 5 and 10 meters.
The beach is pebbled and the seabed has a steep slope so the bathing water gets deep within a few meters from the beach.
The beach has a somewhat urban character, due to its location next to a busy road and the surrounding urban development. However, the clear blue waters and the views at the green hills in the environment still make this a nice and popular beach.
The only potential source of pollution comes from boats sailing through the bay and docking on the quay next to the beach.
Facilities At Imerolia Beach
Imerolia Beach is organized and has several facilities, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, and trash bins. For food and drinks there is a beach taverna.
