Gialiskari Beach in Sinarades, also spelled Yaliskari Beach and not to be confused with the similarly named beaches in Perithia and Gimari, is a secluded beach in a small bay on the west coast of central Corfu. The beach is situated in a natural, undeveloped area and is therefore less known and not so crowded.
How To Get To Gialiskari Sinarades Beach
Gialiskari Beach is located between the villages of Pelekas and Sinarades and can best be reached with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat.
By car, Gialiskari Beach is a 2.7-kilometer drive from Pelekas, 3.5 kilometers from Sinarades, and 14 kilometers from Corfu Town. At the end of the road, there is a small parking area at the beach taverna but otherwise, you can park somewhere alongside the road.
There is no adequate public transport to Gialiskari Beach.
Beach Description
Gialiskari Beach is oriented towards the southwestern direction and only has some shade from the surrounding hills in the early hours of the morning.
The beach stretches as a semicircle along a bay and has a length of approximately 210 meters and an average width of around 10 meters. The beach and seabed have a combination of sand, pebbles, and larger rocks. On the southern side, there is a concrete area for sunbathing.
The bathing waters are shallow for the first few meters as the seabed starts with a gentle slope, but it gets deeper quickly after that. The water is very clear and perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
Gialiskari Sinarades Beach is somewhat lesser known as the surrounding coast is barely developed, so you’ll find yourself in a very natural environment here, surrounded by rocky hills with dense green vegetation.
Facilities At Gialiskari Sinarades Beach
Gialiskari Beach is partly developed and has a few facilities, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent and a beach taverna.
