Emporiko Beach is a small public beach in Potamos, a northwestern suburb of Corfu Town. The beach is located between the Manduki Marina and the Potamos River mouth.
How To Get To Emporiko Beach
Emporiko Beach is located right next to Ethnikis Antistaseos Road, about 4 kilometers northwest of the center of Corfu Town, and can be reached by foot, car, boat, or public transport. There is a free parking lot and roadside parking is available as well. Corfu City Bus line 2B stops in front of the beach (bus stop Karnagio).
Beach Description
Emporiko Beach is a relatively narrow beach strip that curves around Potamos Bay. The beach stretches out over a length of 270 meters between the Manduki Marina and the pier of the Corfu Sailing Park, and has an average width of 5 meters, although overgrowing vegetation can narrow the space for sunbathing.
The beach and seabed have a gentle slope so for the first few meters the water is shallow. The water is usually clear, but there is a slight risk of pollution from boats in the adjacent marina and the nearby wastewater treatment plant. This is however rare and usually short-lived.
Facilities At Empiriko Beach
Emporiko Beach is unorganized and has no facilities so you’d need to bring your own supplies for a beach day. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas, or showers, but there is a small kiosk at the adjacent marina. There are also several bars and restaurants across the road.
