The Casa Parlante Museum is a museum about the everyday 19th-century noble family life and is located in a historic mansion just meters away from Spianada Square in the old town of Corfu.
The museum literally comes to life to recreate the 19th-century setting of a noble family mansion, which means you could be greeted with a text like: “Welcome! Please, come in! The Count will be with you presently. He hopes you will join him and the Countess in the drawing room for tea.”
Through animated figures, robotic technology, and the reproduction of decors, sights, sounds, and smells your senses will be awakened to experience the authentic traditions of a historically important era in the history of Corfu.
In the 19th century, Corfu became the intellectual and cultural center of Greece in a time where trade, economy, and fine arts flourished. Under the influence of Venetian, French, and British conquerers, the island transformed into a cosmopolitan identity attracting important personalities from all over Europe. These western influences also shaped the architectural style of Corfu Town.
