Barbati Beach, sometimes also spelled as Mparpati Beach, is situated in a somewhat secluded bay in front of the homonymous village of Barbati in central Corfu. The beach is a popular destination for holidays and day trips for its clear blue water and beautiful surroundings with green vegetation and a mountainous background.
How To Get To Barbati Beach
Barbati Beach is located just off Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari the seaside village of Barbati and can therefore easily be reached with your own transportation like a rental car or scooter, or by public transport.
From Corfu Town, it’s an 18-kilometer drive to Barbati Beach. Although there is free parking, spaces are limited so it’s best to arrive early or you might have to drive a bit around to find a spot nearby.
To get to Barbati Beach by public transport, you can take Green Bus line A4, A5, A12, or S6 which all stop on the main road in Barbati, from where it’s a 150-meter walk to the beach.
Beach Description
Barbati Beach is oriented towards the southeast and streches out over a length of about 900 meters with an average width of approximatly 20 meters. The beach is pebbled and has a gentle slope, and for the first few meters the bathing water has a normal depth.
Despite the close presence of the village and the busy road, the beach has a somewhat secluded character, due to its lower level and the presence of vegetation, including trees that hide it a bit from the urban environment. The backdrop of Mount Pantokrator behind the beach and the view of Corfu Town on the horizon complete the beautiful scenery.
Facilities At Barbati Beach
Barbati Beach is partly organized and there are several facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, beach bars, restaurants, showers, and trash bins. There are also water sports available, including jet skis and boats for rent.
A few more restaurants and a supermarket can be found in the nearby village.
