Ampelaki Beach is one of the beaches in the popular seaside village of Paleokastritsa, on the west coast of central Corfu. The beach is secluded in a small bay on the western side of the village.
How To Get To Ampelaki Beach
Ampelaki Beach can easily be reached on foot from other parts of the village, or from further away with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or by public transport.
By car, Ampelaki Beach is a 23-kilometer drive from Corfu Town. There is a large, paid parking lot next to the beach and free parking is available further away along the road through the village.
The nearest bus stop is located next to the parking lot. Green Bus line A9 connects Paleokastritsa with Corfu Town and line S6, which only runs during the summer months, with Nissaki.
Beach Description
Ampelaki Beach is the most secluded beach in Paleokastritsa, as it is hidden away in a small bay on the western edge of the village. The beach is oriented towards the southwestern direction.
The beach has a length of approximately 70 meters and an average width of about 5 meters. The beach is sandy, but the seabed is covered with pebbles and stones. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters, the bathing water has a normal depth.
The coastline is natural and behind the beach and around the bay there’s a lot of green vegetation. It is a popular beach, but it’s usually slightly less crowded than the other beaches in the village.
Facilities At Ampelaki Beach
Ampelaki Beach is organized and has several facilities at or near the beach. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, and a beach bar. In close proximity, there are several more bars and restaurants.
There are also watersports available, which inlclude motor boats for rent, pedal boats, peddle boards, and kayaks.
