Agios Petros Beach, not to be confused with Agios Petros Beach in Lefkimmi, is one of the beaches in the popular seaside village of Paleokastritsa, on the west coast of central Corfu. The beach is situated in a small bay on the western side of the village, between Ampelaki Beach and the peninsula with the Paleokastritsa Monastery.
How To Get To Agios Petros Beach
Agios Petros Beach can easily be reached on foot from other parts of the village, or from further away with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or by public transport.
By car, Agios Petros Beach is a 23-kilometer drive from Corfu Town. There is a large, paid parking lot next to the beach and free parking is available further away along the road through the village.
The nearest bus stop is located next to the parking lot. Green Bus lines A9 and A10 connect Paleokastritsa with Corfu Town and line S6, which only runs during the summer months, with Nissaki.
Beach Description
Agios Petros Beach is slightly secluded in a small bay and is oriented in the western and northwestern directions, looking out at Angelokastro Castle.
The beach has a length of approximately 50 meters and an average width of around 5 meters. The beach has sand and pebbles, while the seabed is covered with pebbles and stones. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters the bathing water has a normal depth.
The beach is small, but very popular so space can quickly fill up in the morning.
Facilities At Agios Petros Beach
Agios Petros Beach is fully organized and has several facilties, including showers, trash bins, and a bar-restaurant. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent on the beach, but also on sundecks behind the beach and on the rocks next to the beach. More bars and restaurants can be found in close proximity to the beach.
Water sports are also available at Agios Petros Beach and include motor boats for rent, inflatable rides, pedal boats, stand-up-peddling, and kayaks.
Another attraction next to this beach is the Corfu Aquarium.
