Agios Georgios Pagon Beach, not to be confused with Agios Georgios Beach in the south, is a long beach in the popular seaside village of Agios Georgios Pagon, on the east coast of northern Corfu.
How To Get To Agios Georgios Pagon
Agios Georgios Pagon Beach stretches along the Agios Georgios Bay in front of the village. It can be reached on foot, with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or by public transport.
By car, Agios Georgios Pagon Beach is a 19-kilometer drive from Paleokastritsa and 31 kilometers from Corfu Town. There’s free parking alongside the road parallel to the beach.
To get to Agios Georgios Pagon Beach by public transport, you can take Green Bus line A7 which connects the village with Corfu Town. There are several bus stops along the road parallel to the beach.
Beach Description
Agios Georgios Pagon Beach stretches out between the foot of the historic village of Afionas and the other side of the bay. The beach is oriented towards the southwest and looks out on the Porto Timoni peninsula to the west and the mountainous coastline to the east. The surrounding area consists of green hills, which creates a beautiful picture with the yellow sand beach and turqoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
The beach has a length of more than 2 kilometers and an average width of approximately 20 meters. The beach and seabed are sandy and the seabed has a gentle slope. For the first few meters, the bathing water remains shallow.
Because of its long length, the beach is spacious enough and never gets too busy, while at the same time it has all the amenities to fulfill the needs of a resort town.
Facilities At Agios Georgios Pagon Beach
Agios Georgios Pagon Beach is organized for the most part and has many facilities, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, showers, toilets, and waste bins. Several beach bars, restaurants and a few shops operate along the beach.
Water sports are also available and include, peddle boards, pedal boats, kayaks, jet skis, and inflatable rides. You can also rent a motor boat, go on an organized boat tour, or take a water taxi to Porto Timoni Beach.
