The Italian Stable is a historic building on the estate of Mon Repos in Corfu Town. The building is located next to the Temple of Hera and near one of the gates around the estate.
The exact year of construction and its initial purpose are unknown, but it is certain that the building was constructed during the British rule of Corfu (1814-1864). The name Italian Stable was probably derived from one of its past functions.
The single-story building has three symmetrically arched openings on its southwestern facade. Stone corbels on this side reveal the intention to construct another floor, which indicates that the building has actually never been finished. During a recent renovation, the building was converted into an exhibition space.
