Aeolos Beach is a popular beach in the seaside village of Perama, on the east coast of central Corfu. It is one of the most beautiful beaches near Corfu Town and is located only 6 kilometers south of the center.
How To Get To Aeolos Beach
Aeolos Beach is located on the southern edge of Perama, near Gastouri, and can very easily be reached with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or by public transport.
By car, Aeolos Beach is a 9-kilometer drive from the center of Corfu Town. There is no public parking lot at the beach, so you’ll have to park somewhere safely along the road, potentially somewhat further away.
It’s very easy to get to Aeolos Beach by public transport, as several buses stop right in front of the beach. The easiest and most frequent route is Corfu City Bus line 6 between Corfu Town and Benitses, but several southbound Green Buses also pass by the beach.
Beach Description
Aeolos Beach is situated in a bay and is oriented towards the eastern and southeastern directions and looks out at the mainland of Greece on the horizon.
The beach has a length of approximately 200 meters and an average width of 6 meters. The beach and seabed have a combination of sand and fine pebbles.
The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters, the bathing water is shallow. The water is very clear and calm, providing the perfect conditions for swimming.
The coastline at Aeolos Beach is mostly developed with a busy road, the large Aeolos Beach Resort, several tavernas and several other constructions. However, the beach is somewhat secluded from the road and has some vegetation.
Aeolos Beach is very popular and can get very busy in the summer.
Facilities At Aeolos Beach
Aeolos Beach is fully organized and has many facilities, including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, sundecks on the water, showers, toilets, trash bins, and a number of tavernas serving food and drinks.
Pedal boats, peddle boards and other water sports are also available at this beach.
