Kanoula Beach or Chanoula Beach is a long sand beach on the west coast of southern Corfu, near the villages of Paleochori and Drogotina. The beach is located near the southern end of the island and has a very remote character with unspoiled natural beauty.
How To Get To Kanoula Beach
Kanoula Beach is located in a very remote area and can only be reached by a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat.
By car, Kanoula Beach is about a 2-kilometer drive from either Paleochori or Dragotina. There is a road parallel to the beach with ample space to park.
Unfortunately, there is no public transport to Kanoula Beach. The nearest bus stops are in Palaiochori and Dragotina. Green Bus line B3 connects both villages with Corfu Town.
Beach Description
Kanoula Beach is oriented towards the southwestern direction, which is great for watching the sunset, but there is no shade during the entire day.
The beach has a length of approximately 2 kilometers and an average width of 30 meters. For the most part, the beach and seabed are sandy, while the northern part has more pebbles and larger stones.
The seabed has a gentle slope and the bathing water has a normal depth for the first few meters. The water is very clear and only has some occasional small waves, making it perfect for swimming.
The beach is almost completely unspoiled and surrounded by a natural environment with some shrubby vegetation and high green hills. Kanoula Beach is therefore great to escape the busier beaches, and to relax, swim, and take a long beach walk without encountering too many other people.
Facilities At Kanoula Beach
Kanoula Beach is only organized for a small part, by one beach bar. There you can get drinks and food, use their sunbeds and umbrellas, showers, and toilets. The rest of the beach has no facilities.
At the southern end of the beach there is a small port, the Kanoula Harbor.
