Gialiskari Beach in Perithia, not to be confused with similarly named beaches in Gimari and Sinarades, is a sandy beach near the Antinioti Lagoon on the northeastern coast of Corfu. The area is a protected nature reserve with a unique biodiversity.
How To Get To Gialiskati Beach In Perithia
Gialiskari Perithia Beach is located on an island separated from the mainland by the Antinioti Lagoon and can best be reached with a private vehicle, like a rental car, scooter, or boat, or on foot.
By car, Gialiskari Perithia Beach is a 6-kilometer drive from Acharavi, 8 kilometers from Kassiopi, and 43 kilometers from Corfu Town. On both sides of the island, there’s a bridge across the lagoon, but only on the eastern side, the bridge is accessible by cars. From there it’s a dirt road to the beach.
By foot, you can reach Gialiskari Perithia Beach from either Agios Spiridon Beach, or from Almyros Beach. In both cases, you can either follow the dirt road or follow the marked hiking path along the seashore.
There’s no public transport to Gialiskari Perithia Beach. The nearest bus stop is on Road 2217 Tzavrou-Kassiopi-Sidari and serves Green Bus line S5 between Kassiopi and Sidari, which only runs during the summer season.
Beach Description
Gialiskari Perithia Beach is situated in a bay and is oriented towards the northern direction, looking out on the Albanian coast.
The beach has a length of approximately 70 meters and an average width of around 20 meters. The beach and seabed are sandy. The seabed has a gentle slope and for the first few meters the bathing water is shallow.
The sandy beach is marked by a rocky shore on both ends and surrounded by dense green vegetation. The coastline is completely natural without any constructions. The beach is a real hidden gem because despite its great characteristics and beautiful environment it’s usually quiet because of its remote location.
Facilities At Gialiskari Perithia Beach
Gialiskari Perithia Beach is unorganized and has no facilities, so you’ll have to bring your own supplies for a beach day. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water on a hot summer day. The nearest place to get any food or drinks is at Agios Spiridon Beach.
