Kanoni Beach in Kassiopi, not to be confused with Kanoni Beach in Corfu Town, is not an actual beach but rather an unspoiled rocky area that is popular for sunbathing and swimming. The beach is located at the edge of a peninsula in Kassiopi, a popular coastal village in the northeast of Corfu.
How To Get To Kanoni Beach
Kanoni Beach is situated at the tip of the peninsula in the north of Kassiopi, between two of the most popular beaches, Pipitos Beach and Bataria Beach. It can be reached by foot, with a private vehicle, like a rental car or scooter, or by public transport.
By foot, Kanoni Beach is a 10-minute walk from the center of Kassiopi, and getting there is pretty straightforward as you can just follow the only road that goes around the peninsula.
You can also get to Kanoni Beach by car or scooter and from Corfu Town, it’s about a 35-kilometer or 1-hour drive. There is only a very small parking area which fills up very quickly in summer. To save the hassle of driving through the narrow roads to the beach, only to find there’s no parking available you can best park in one of the parking lots at the entrance of the village and walk from there.
The nearest bus stop is in the center of the village. Green Bus lines A4 and A12 connect Kassiopi with Corfu Town.
Beach Description
Kanoni Beach is not a typical beach with sand or pebbles, but rather the natural, rugged tip of the peninsula consisting of rocks and stones. The area has naturally become an extension of the two incredibly popular beaches between which it is situated as people are looking for quieter spaces for sunbathing and swimming.
Kanoni Beach has an unspoiled character with several tiny bays and beautiful green vegetation, but there are also areas with large, flat stone slabs which are ideal to put your towel down. On the western side there’s also a small pebbled area.
Facilities At Kanoni Beach
Kanoni Beach is partly organized and has some facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. For food and drinks, next to the beach there’s a taverna with beautiful views from its deck.
