Bataria Beach is one of the beaches in the popular coastal village of Kassiopi, in the northeast of Corfu. Despite its urban location, the beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the area due to its secluded character and beautiful views of the coastline of Albania.
How To Get To Bataria Beach
Bataria Beach is situated on the northern shore of the peninsula to the north of the center of Kassiopi. It can be reached by foot, with a private vehicle, like a rental car or scooter, or by public transport.
By foot, Bataria Beach is a 10-minute walk from the center of Kassiopi, and getting there is pretty straightforward as you can just follow the only road that goes around the peninsula.
You can also get to Bataria Beach by car or scooter and from Corfu Town, it’s about a 35-kilometer or 1-hour drive. There is only a very small parking area which fills up very quickly in summer. To save the hassle of driving through the narrow roads to the beach, only to find there’s no parking available you can best park in one of the parking lots at the entrance of the village and walk from there.
The nearest bus stop is in the center of the village. Green Bus lines A4 and A12 connect Kassiopi with Corfu Town.
Beach Description
Bataria Beach is situated in a small bay and is oriented towards the northeastern direction. The beach look directly out on the beautiful mountainous coastline of the Albanian Riviera, including the popular beach town of Saranda.
The beach has a length of 36 meters and an average width of 14 meters. The coastline is rocky and natural without any constructions, while the beach and seabed are pebbled. The seabed has steep slope and the bathing water reaches a depth of 2 meters within the first 5 meters.
The beach is surrounded by some green vegetation and together with the turqoise waters and beautiful views it creates a stunning picturesque environment. It’s therefore no surprise that this is an incredibly popular beach that get packed in summer.
Facilities At Bataria Beach
Bataria Beach is organized and has facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas for rent and trash bins. For food and drinks, next to the beach there’s a taverna with beautiful views from its deck.
