Vromolimni Beach is one of the virgin beaches of Erimitis, an area of unparalleled natural beauty with green hills, wetlands, and secluded bays on the east coast of northern Corfu. The beach is situated in a bay in front of the Vromolimni Pond, one of the small lakes in the area.
How To Get To Vromolimni Beach
Due to its remote location in the nature reserve of Erimitis, there is no road access to Vromolimni Beach. The only way to reach it is by boat or on foot.
To get to Vromolimni Beach overland, you can follow one of several hiking trails through Erimitis. The shortest trail to this beach starts next to the military radar tower at the hairpin in the road through the nature reserve. Another trail connects Vromolimni Beach with the other beaches and Agios Stefanos Sinion in the south.
Beach Description
Vromolimni Beach is a narrow strip that is squeezed in between the Ionian Sea and the Vromolimni Pond. The beach is oriented towards the east and southeast and stretches out over a length of approximately 200 meters, with an average width of around 5 meters.
The beach and seabed are covered with stones and small pebbles and have a gentle slope. For the first few meters, the bathing water is relatively shallow.
The beach is surrounded by natural beauty with clear blue seawater and the small lake and the green hills of Erimitis in the background. The pictureque landscape is an oasis of tranquillity that is ideal to escape from the crowds.
Facilities At Vromolimni Beach
Vromolimni Beach is unorganized and has no facilities, so you’ll have to bring your own supplies. You really can’t get any food or drinks nearby so make sure to bring plenty of water, especially if you embark on a hike through Erimitis.
