The Anemomylos Windmill is a historic Venetian windmill located at the Anemomylos Marina in Garitsa Bay in Corfu Town.
Although it’s not known when the windmill was originally built, it is widely assumed that it dates to the Venetian times, as many windmills were built in that era to provide the inhabitants of Corfu with grain. The Anemomylos Windmill has long been abandoned and got in severe despair to the point that not much was left of the original building. In 1998 it was decided to completely rebuild the windmill in the same place and shape as the original building.
Like in Venetian times, the windmill is now a remarkable landmark which can be observed from far away. The restored windmill is now part of a popular leisure area, which includes the Anemomylos Marina, several restaurants, beaches, and the boardwalk along Garitsa Bay.
