Corfu Town, also known as Kerkyra, is Corfu’s largest town and capital. The town houses the seat of the Corfu Regional Unit and the Municipality of Central Corfu and the Diapontian Islands, one of the three municipalities of the island.
How To Get To Corfu Town
Corfu Town is the main transit hub for getting to and around the island and can therefore easily be reached by air, ferry, private boat, car, bus, taxi, or private transfer.
Corfu International Airport is located only two kilometers south of the old town and Corfu Port is located directly north of it. The town also houses several marinas for private vessels. You can find more information about getting to and from the island in this article: How To Get To Corfu.
With its central location, Corfu Town is also the main hub for getting around the island. Most car rental companies are located there and it is the terminus for both the Corfu City Bus and the Green Buses.
Corfu City Bus is the urban bus company with lines covering the town and connecting the outer suburbs and nearby villages, as well as the airport, ferry port, and long-distance bus station.
The Green Buses connect Corfu Town with other parts of the island and a handful of destinations on mainland Greece. Almost all long-distance buses depart from the Green Bus Terminal on Leof. Eptanisou.
