The Governor’s Olive Mill is an olive oil factory in the historic village of Agios Mattheos in southern Corfu. The factory is open to visitors and houses a small museum, a shop, and a tasting room.
The Governor is an award-winning brand of olive oil and other olive products founded by the Dafnis family. Several generations later, The Governor is still a family business but their products are exported worldwide.
In the village of Agios Mattheos, you can visit The Governor’s Olive Mill, the production facility of the company. Next to the modern factory, there is a small museum with a historic olive press and other historic tools that were traditionally used for the production of olive oil. You can either read the descriptions or opt for a guided olive oil tour, which lasts approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
